According to reports filed to the Securities and Exchange Commission, one of the world’s richest investors recently did something that raised eyebrows on Wall Street.
American billionaire Joel Greenblatt, the famous author of The Little Book that Beats the Market sold shares of Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple –and even dumped shares of the blue-chip company, Coca Cola.
But the surprising part if this fascinating story isn’t what the famed author SOLD.
Recently, Greenblatt committed to buy more than 50,000 shares in a tiny, $7 firm using a virtually-unknown strategy to profit when gold soars.
According to one hard-asset specialist, this obscure firm is using a brilliant business strategy with a history of outperforming everything from to gold bullion, gold stocks, silver, and even real estate.
In fact, the two companies that pioneered this business model went on to hand investors extraordinary gains.
One firm is called Royal Gold (Nasdaq: RGLD). The stock price of Royal Gold has soared as much as 65% over the last 12 months –and even gained more than 50%in 2008 when the markets crashed by 37%.
The second firm is Franco-Nevada (NYSE: FNV), which could’ve handed investors stunning average gains of 37% for 18 years from 1983 to 2001.
And now, this hard-asset specialist has identified a third firm –the same $7 firm Joel Greenblatt recently bought 50,000 shares of –using the same business model aiming to hand investors a small fortune.
